Welcome to Norton Youth Football and Cheer!
Our organization provides the youth of Norton opportunities to participate in football and cheer activities conducted by Norton Youth Football and Cheer Coaches and Volunteers. These activities are meant to be a fun, positive experience for all those involved.
Norton Youth Football and Cheer is completely administered by volunteers. If your child participates in NYFC it is your duty and hopefully your pleasure to find a way to help out. Volunteers are always needed, from Concessions to Field Chains to Set Up and Break Down.
Please take the time to view our Volunteer sign ups and find a place for you to do your part!

This is American Youth Football, not the pros. Fans, as well as the players and coaches, are expected to abide by a code of conduct at all American Youth Football Events. While 99% of the adults in the program will abide by this code without being told, this code is being published to protect the children and volunteers (which includes all coaches and board members) from the 1%.
FANS’ CODE OF CONDUCT
Fans will abide by a Code of Conduct which includes the provisions which follow. If any of these rules are broken, NYFC shall have the authority to impose a penalty.

Intrude onto the field, stand on the sideline, or yell from the bleachers at or to the coaches, referees or administration.
“Leadership rests not only upon ability, not only upon capacity – having the capacity to lead is not enough. The leader must be willing to use it. His leadership is then based on truth and character. There must be truth in the purpose and will power in the character.”
- Vince Lombardi
The 14 leadership traits are qualities of thought and action which, if demonstrated in daily activities, help Norton Youth Football and Cheer learn respect, confidence, and loyal cooperation of others. It is extremely important that you understand the meaning of each leadership trait and how to develop it, so you know what goals to set as you work to become a good leader and a great teammate.

INITIATIVE
Initiative is taking action even though you haven’t been told to do something. It means meeting new and unexpected situations with prompt action. It includes using resourcefulness to get something done without the normal material or methods being available to you. To improve your initiative, work on staying mentally and physically alert. Be aware of things that need to be done and then to do them without having to be told.

Decisiveness means that you are able to make good decisions without delay. Get all the facts and weigh them against each other. By acting calmly and quickly, you should arrive at a sound decision. If you fear doing certain things required in your daily life, force yourself to do them until you can control your reaction.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge is the understanding of a science or art. Knowledge means that you have acquired information and that you understand people. Your knowledge should be broad, and in addition to knowing your job, you should know your teams policies and keep up with current events. Increase your knowledge by remaining alert. Listen, observe, and find out about things you don’t understand. Study your plays, manuals and other literature or media.
LOYALTY
Loyalty means that you are devoted to your family, team, peers, your coaches and community.
